I will be climbing 2,228 metres to reach Australia’s highest point, not just for the thrill of the climb, but to raise awareness and crucial funds for those affected by rare, less common, or complex cancers through Rare Cancers Australia (RCA).
Every year, countless Australians face the unimaginable: a diagnosis of a rare cancer that can feel isolating and overwhelming. These are not just statistics; they are our family members, friends, and neighbors—people who deserve our support and compassion. By participating in the Kosi Challenge, I hope to honor their struggles and amplify their voices.
Your support means everything. One hundred percent of the funds I raise will go directly towards RCA's Patient Support Team, who work tirelessly on the frontlines to provide vital assistance. They help patients access specialists and treatments, create invaluable support groups, and offer financial aid during the most challenging times. Imagine the relief a family feels when they know they’re not alone and that there’s a network ready to help them navigate their journey.
RCA is a Federal Government-classified Health Promotion Charity, which means all donations over AU $2 are fully tax-deductible. This is not just a donation; it's an investment in hope, a commitment to ensuring that no one has to face their cancer journey without support.

Climbing for a Cause: My Journey with the Kosi Challenge
Hey everyone,
As I sit down to share my thoughts, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. In March 2025, I’ll be taking on the Kosi Challenge, which means climbing to Australia’s highest point—2,228 metres above sea level. But this climb isn’t just about reaching the top; it’s about something much bigger. It’s about standing up for those who are facing the tough battle against rare, less common, and complex cancers.
Every year, countless Australians receive the gut-wrenching news of a cancer diagnosis. Many of these cancers are rare, and that often means a difficult journey filled with uncertainty and isolation. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to face such a challenge alone, and that’s why I’ve decided to take on this climb. I want to show my support for those individuals and their families—people who deserve our compassion, understanding, and help.
One organization that is doing incredible work in this area is Rare Cancers Australia (RCA). Their Patient Support Team is a lifeline for so many. They help patients access specialists, find treatments, and connect with support groups. They provide financial assistance when it’s needed most, helping to ease the burden during some of life’s toughest moments. Knowing that every dollar I raise will go directly to these vital services gives me the motivation to push through the challenges of the climb.
As I prepare for this journey, I often find myself reflecting on the strength and resilience of those battling cancer. Their courage inspires me to train harder and push my limits, both physically and mentally. This climb is not just about the physical challenge; it’s also about raising awareness and shining a light on the struggles faced by so many.
